Democrats: We have a (secret) plan …

No big campaign announcements came out of Idaho Democratic Party meetings last week in Twin Falls. No Democrat has publicly announced a campaign for governor, superintendent of public instruction or any other state office.

But in a news release, the party pledges to field a lineup of “honest, hard-working candidates,” and the party touts a 10-year strategic plan aimed at reversing decades of Republican control in state politics.

“The plan is a roadmap to success that unites, energizes and focuses Idaho Democrats,” Democrats said Monday. “The plan’s details, which were created by and agreed upon by Idaho’s Democratic leaders, are not public.”

Here, in full, is the Democratic Party news release:

Idaho Democrats met for the 2013 Clint Stennett Fall Idaho Democratic Party meeting Friday through Saturday (Oct. 25 – 27) in Twin Falls. Major business entailed establishment of a 10-Year Strategic Plan. IDP leaders also voted to hold the 2014 Idaho Democratic State Convention on June 20 at the Best Western Inn in Moscow, Idaho.

The strategic plan is rooted in a vision that achieves balanced state government that ends decades of GOP control that has hurt Idaho’s economies, communities, businesses and families. The plan is a roadmap to success that unites, energizes and focuses Idaho Democrats. The plan’s details, which were created by and agreed upon by Idaho’s Democratic leaders, are not public.

The strategic plan builds on IDP growth and momentum of recent years. The IDP is already geared up for the 2014 election year. We will offer honest, hardworking candidates from local to state levels who will put the needs of regular Idahoans first.

Idaho Democratic candidates will benefit from running against Republicans whose failed economic policies now have a higher percentage of workers earning minimum wage than any other state. The GOP has also plunged Idaho to the bottom of the nation for state investment in students.
