On Aug. 26, 63 percent of Notus voters said yes to replacing an aging grade school — but that fell short of the required two-thirds supermajority.
The Canyon County district will go back to voters in November in hopes of bridging the gap.
“We didn’t have an actual set of plans that said, ‘This is what the building will look like,’ and it was hard for patrons to know what we were going to do with (the money),” district Superintendent Craig Woods told the Idaho Press-Tribune last week. “That was one of the missteps we had at our level.”
The district has posted a conceptual plan and PowerPoint presentation on its website.
The elementary school in question was opened in 1926.
