IdahoEdNews.org earned top honors for online journalism at the annual Idaho Press Club awards Saturday.
IdahoEdNews.org won the first place award for “Website General Excellence” in the online division for the second year in a row.
IdahoEdTrends.org, a free data site featuring information on all Idaho public schools, also received top honors in the category of “Website Special Purpose.”
Senior reporter Kevin Richert won the state’s top award for First Amendment reporting for the work he did labeled “Those Destroyed State Board Applications.”
In the “Reporter of the Year” category, Clark Corbin of IdahoEdNews.org won the third place award.
Other honors for Idaho Ed News included:
- Second place, Best Online News or Feature Story, Corbin, for “Ed News goes racing with the Legislature.”
- Second place, Best Blog, Richert, for “The Edge.”
- Second place, Best Use of Social Media.
- Third place, special coverage, Richert, for “Idaho’s broadband network coverage.”
