The Democrats’ 27 national delegates elected Balukoff as their chairman.

“I am excited to represent the people of Idaho as a Bernie Sanders supporter from a state where 78 percent of caucusgoers voted for Sanders,” Balukoff said in a news release.

Other Idaho delegates with K-12 connections are Bert Marley, the state Democratic Party chairman and former Idaho Education Association lobbyist, who will go to the Philadelphia convention as a Sanders superdelegate; and Rep. Ilana Rubel of Boise, a House Education Committee member who will go as a delegate for Hillary Clinton.
