With new appointee, Nampa has all-female school board

(UPDATED, 2:16 p.m., with information on another all-female school board.)

With a new appointee, the Nampa School Board may be a rarity: an all-female board of trustees.

Heather Lewis is the newest member of the board. She will begin her term in July, Erin Bamer of the Idaho Press reported Wednesday. Lewis will replace Mike Fuller, who stepped down in May to spend more time with his family.

Nampa doesn’t have the only all-female school board in Idaho — but it’s close.

The tiny Swan Valley Elementary District is the only other district with an all-female school board. Swan Valley’s board has three trustees, while Nampa has a board of five trustees.
