The State Board of Education spent 2.5 hours behind closed doors Friday to discuss an undisclosed personnel issue at the University of Idaho, but took no action.
After convening the 10:30 a.m. meeting, the board immediately went into a closed executive session.
This marked the second time this month that the board will hold a closed meeting to discuss U of I personnel matters. The board held a two-hour executive session on July 13, but took no action afterward.
The board has not outlined the issue, or issues, discussed in closed session.
Under Idaho open meeting law, public bodies can hold a closed meeting to discuss personnel issues. They cannot cast votes or make decisions in a closed meeting; those actions must occur in open session.
