Before the 2020 legislative session gets even busier, I wanted to take a moment to let you know where you can find me.

Several places, actually, in addition to this usual space:

• I will play a larger role on Idaho Public Television’s “Idaho Reports,” the state’s go-to public affairs program. I will continue to appear on pundits’ panel discussions, as I did Friday, and during Monday’s State of the State address. But I’ll also work on several interview segments during the session — including this week, when we expect to have a sit-down with Gov. Brad Little. (More about this session’s coverage plans from “Idaho Reports” anchor Melissa Davlin.)
• Speaking of Idaho Public Television, I’m working with Joan Cartan-Hansen on an hour-long program on the future of education in the state. We’re working on interviews with Little, State Board of Education President Debbie Critchfield and the state’s university presidents. That program is scheduled to air on Jan. 21 — right in the middle of “Education Week” at the Legislature, when lawmakers start digging into K-12 and higher ed budget requests.
• I will continue my weekly interviews and Facebook Live segments with 6 On Your Side’s Michelle Edmonds. You can look for those on Wednesday afternoons at about 2 p.m.
• I will continue to be an occasional guest on Boise State Public Radio’s “Idaho Matters,” which airs at noon and 8 p.m. weekdays. Each Friday, host Gemma Gaudette convenes a “reporters’ roundtable” with local journalists, and I’m part of the roundtable rotation. (Speaking of Gaudette, she will be performing double duty this session, hosting “Idaho Reports” through mid-March while Davlin is on maternity leave.)

We’ve worked with Idaho Public TV, 6 On Your Side and Boise State Public Radio for years, and I really value these partnerships. In an ever-changing media landscape, it only makes sense for us to pool our resources and collaborate on content. Plus, it’s always fun to work with smart people.

So there’s nothing new in these partnerships, except that they’re growing. And that’s a good thing.

Clark Corbin and I will again provide day-to-day coverage from the session, with an emphasis on education. We’ll sum it all up each Friday in our “Extra Credit” podcast. And this session, I will write a weekly analysis piece digging past the daily developments to put the issues into context; that will run each Thursday. And I’ll try to do a better job of posting video and audio from the TV and radio segments, so you can find more of this content right here at my blog.
