IDAHO FALLS — The Bonneville School District has suspended most of its bus routes for middle schoolers and high schoolers this week after a “number” of drivers tested positive for COVID-19, became symptomatic or have been in close contact with others who are ill.
“As we anticipated, our transportation department has been hit hard by the COVID-19 virus,” Superintendent Scott Woolstenhulme wrote to parents over the weekend. He encouraged parents to bring their kids to school or arrange carpools.
“I am afraid this will continue to be an issue until we have more applicants for our job openings or until a vaccine is developed for COVID,” Woolstehulme said.
All elementary bus routes will run at their normally scheduled times.
