DRIGGS — Students are back at Driggs Elementary School this week after it shut down for two days last week.
The school reopened Monday following closures Wednesday and Thursday due to a “COVID-caused staffing shortage,” Teton public relations consultant Jeanne Anderson announced Saturday.
The temporary closure stemmed from increased local cases of COVID-19 and the need for substitute teachers. At least 15 students and staffers tested positive for the illness and at least 88 others may have been exposed, the district announced last week. Two first-grade classes and one kindergarten class were in quarantine.
Driggs Elementary serves some 300 students and has 20 certified staff members.
