State superintendent Debbie Critchfield started Monday morning in the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee for the beginning of “Education Week,” a series of K-12 and higher education budget presentations. (Critchfield is scheduled to present her K-12 budget proposal Wednesday.)

During his overview, State Board of Education president Kurt Liebich congratulated his former board colleague on her election, and said he had a message for Critchfield after her landslide victory in November. “When you get 70% of the vote, your priorities are my priorities.”

The superintendent ate lunch with the Idaho Future Farmers of America Association, at its legislative luncheon, and then headed to a joint State Department of Education and Office of the State Board of Education meet-and-greet.

This afternoon, Critchfield will meet with new Idaho attorney general, Raúl Labrador, and host a press appointment early Monday evening.

She’ll conclude her work day with the Idaho Community Bankers banquet Monday night.
