New survey seeks to understand teen vaping in Idaho

A new survey aims to collect data about the prevalence of and attitudes towards vaping use in Idaho teens.

Vaping is the act of inhaling vapor produced by an electronic device, commonly known as an e-cigarette or vape pen. These devices heat a liquid solution typically containing nicotine, flavorings, and other chemicals, creating an aerosol that users inhale as an alternative to traditional tobacco smoking. Vaping has shown rising popularity among teens in recent years, although vaping under the age of 21 is illegal in Idaho and the United States.

Rathbone Falvey Research has launched a confidential survey for Idaho teens ages 13-19 aimed at understanding their knowledge of vaping. Teens’ input could provide deeper understanding and context to the issues.

Because this survey is targeted at minors, parental consent is required for teens to participate. All responses will be kept confidential.

The survey is open until Oct. 18 and takes approximately five minutes to complete.

Parents can find out more, sign up and participate at www.IdahoTeenSurvey.com.
