Pocatello-Chubbuck will drop Indians mascot in June

The change will occur after this school year.

The district reopened “as normal,” with various safety precautions in place Tuesday, said the superintendent.

In-person learning has made it easier for our three girls, but remote learning is making it tough for families in other parts of the state.

Trustees could nix the long-running moniker as early as Sept. 15.

“We want the kids to feel normal coming back,” said Superintendent Spencer Barzee.

Our girls returned after a six-month break. It wasn’t as unusual as we anticipated.

Utah charter school principal Gary Tucker will replace Marvin Hansen in September.
