We all have a handful of unforgettable days in our lives —graduation, prom, wedding or the first day of school.

This week thousands of Idaho children will experience the latter and I wanted to document this momentous event from start to finish.

I shadowed 6-year-old Tripp Grenke from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. — a day full of anticipation, joy, jitters and tears tucked together with pancakes and pizza bagel bites.
