(UPDATED, 3:28 p.m., with Clark’s 2015-16 salary.)
West Ada district Superintendent Linda Clark received a one-year contract extension Tuesday night — narrowly.
The board voted 3-2 to extend Clark’s contract through June 2018. But the vote reflects a division within the board of Idaho’s largest school district.
After discussing Clark’s status in executive session, trustees Mike Vuittonet, Anne Ritter and Janet Calinsky voted for the extension. Carol Sayles and Tina Dean voted no. (That’s identical to a split vote Tuesday to censure Sayles over a series of election-eve emails sent out on a district account; the board voted 3-2 to reprimand Sayles.)
And two of the three trustees who endorsed Clark’s contract will be leaving the board next month. Julie Madsen ousted Ritter in the May 19 trustee elections. Calinsky did not seek re-election, and Russell Joki will take her place on the board. Madsen and Joki will be sworn in on July 7.
Under the extension, Clark will receive $143,475.29 in 2015-16, district spokesman Eric Exline said Wednesday. According to salary figures supplied by the State Department of Education, Clark received $140,867 in 2014-15.
