The state’s plans to auction off three undeveloped cabin sites on Priest Lake are on hold.
Instead, the trial auctions may occur next year, Betsy Russell of the Spokane Spokesman-Review reported Tuesday.
The auctions had been planned for August or September. As the state looks to sell off or trade off the North Idaho cabin sites — lands that benefit the state’s endowment — the three auctions are designed to give the state a better sense of the market value of the empty lots.
Proceeds from the endowment lands, and their possible sale, go to a variety of beneficiaries. The public schools endowment reaps about two-thirds of the money; in 2012-13, K-12 received nearly $31.3 million.
