Meridian Republican Russ Fulcher made it official Wednesday, saying he will run again for governor in 2018.
Sven Berg of the Idaho Statesman broke the news Wednesday afternoon.
Fulcher, a former state senator, said his campaign will focus on ways to unlock Idaho’s potential.
“Idaho is one of those states that has the real potential and capacity to shine on a nationwide level,” Fulcher told Berg. “We’ve got incredible wealth within our state and we’re not performing the way that we should.
Fulcher joins Lt. Gov. Brad Little in the 2018 GOP primary; Little jumped into the race in June.
Fulcher ran second to incumbent Gov. Butch Otter in a four-person May 2014 primary, collecting 44 percent of the vote.
