State initiative to focus on teacher quality

This month, states are required to tell the feds how they plan to ensure all students have access to highly qualified teachers.

The process stems back to the Excellent Educators for All Initiative, launched in 2014 by the U.S. Department of Education project. The initiative required states to draw up plans designed to ensure that all students have access to quality teachers. The feds committed $4.2 million to provide technical assistance to states and districts as they implemented their local plans.

Wednesday’s State Department of Education webinar is designed “to provide more in-depth information to education stakeholders who may be interested in the review process.”
