The Boise School District has named nine new school principals for 2014-15 — with one more announcement still forthcoming.
Here’s a roundup of administrative changes in the Boise district:
Tim Standlee will be principal at Borah High School.
He is a 23-year Boise schools veteran, and is currently principal at West Junior High School.
Standlee will succeed retiring Borah principal Bonita Hammer.
Janet Cherry will succeed Standlee as principal at West Junior High School.
Cherry has worked nearly 20 years in the Boise district. She has been assistant principal at Capital High School since 2005.
Irene Vogel will take over as principal at the Dennis Professional Technical Education Center.
Vogel has 16 years’ experience at the state level, working in professional-technical or vocational education.
She will succeed Kyle Kallmeyer, who will become assistant principal at Riverside and Amity elementary schools.
Betty Olson will become the district’s administrator of student programs. She will be in charge of special education, alternative programs and summer school, in conjunction with professional development, curriculum and federal programs.
Olson is a 30-year Boise school district veteran, including 23 years as a school principal.
She is currently principal at South Junior High School; no successor has been named.
Debbie Donovan will become the district’s administrator of student programs.
Donovan has worked for Boise schools since 1982.
She has been principal at three Boise elementary schools, and currently is principal at Garfield Elementary School.
Darryl Gerber will be Donovan’s successor at Garfield.
Gerber has worked in Boise schools for 17 years.
He is currently the principal at Amity Elementary School.
Tim Lowe will succeed Gerber at Amity.
Lowe has worked in the Boise district since 1991.
He currently serves as principal at Grace Jordan Elementary School.
Jason Hutchison will come to Boise to succeed Lowe at Grace Jordan.
He has been an educator in California for 15 years.
He is now principal at Richland Junior High School in Shafter, Calif.
Brett Forrey will become principal at Morley Nelson Elementary School.
He is a 21-year veteran of Boise schools, and has served as principal in three Boise elementary schools.
He will leave Hidden Springs Elementary School for the post at Morley Nelson.
Melanie Koch will succeed Forrey as principal at Hidden Springs.
Koch has spent 16 years in education, the last five years in administration in Meridian schools.
At Meridian, Koch has been principal at Linder and Willow Creek elementary schools and assistant principal at Eagle and Mountain View high schools.
Tara Coe will become principal at White Pine Elementary School.
Coe has worked for Boise schools for 20 years, and is currently assistant principal at Riverside and Whitney elementary schools.
Coe will succeed Becca Anderson, who is leaving White Pine to become Boise’s language arts supervisor.
