In the past week, Boise School District officials have appointed four new principals for 2013-14.
Morley Nelson Elementary School. Paula Bell will replace Lisa Roberts, who is becoming the district’s administrator of student programs.
Bell has served as an Idaho educator since 1985, when she began serving Meridian Joint School District No. 2 as a teacher and counselor.
More recently, Bell served as principal of Madison Elementary School between 2001 and 2004. Since 2005, Bell served as principal at Lowell Elementary School.
Bell competed her undergraduate degree at Boise State University and earned a pair of master’s degrees in education from the College of Idaho and the University of Idaho, as well as an additional education specialist degree from the University of Idaho.
East Junior High School. David Greene replaces outgoing principal David Roberts, who was named the district’s technology program administrator. Green has amassed nearly 30 years of education experience, beginning his career as a science, health and physical education teacher in California.
For the past nine years, Greene has served as principal of Riverglen Junior High School. Previously, Greene served as that school’s assistant principal and held an administrative role at Amity Elementary School.
Green completed an undergraduate degree at Lewis-Clark State College and earned his master’s degree in education administration from the University of Idaho.
Riverglen Junior High School. Sandy Winters has been named to replace Greene, who is heading to East Junior High School next year.
Winters has taught in Idaho schools since 1991, when she served as a health teacher and physical education specialist in Idaho Falls. Winters also taught and coached at Pocatello and Boise high schools.
From 2004 to 2011 Winters served as principal at White Pine Elementary school, and for the past two years she has served as principal at Riverside Elementary School.
Winters completed her undergraduate degree at Boise State University and earned her master’s degree in education administration from the University of Idaho.
Shadow Hills Elementary School. Jeff Roberts is set to replace retiring principal Leslie Bigham next year.
Roberts, currently principal at Adams Elementary School, began teaching in the district at Taft Elementary School in 2005. Roberts went on to serve in administrative roles at Amity and Jefferson elementary schools before accepting his position at Taft.
Roberts earned his bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Boise State, and went on to obtain a master’s in education leadership from the University of Idaho.
