Boise State University has broken ground on a new home for its construction management building.

The $4 million project will provide a home for an established, but growing, Boise State program.

Construction management, the oldest program in the College of Engineering, opened in 1978 and produced its first graduates in 1980. Over the past six years, construction management enrollment has increased by 80%, according to a Boise State news release. The program boasts a 100% job placement rate.

The new building will include “a large student collaboration area, a 40-seat computer lab, dedicated classrooms, several conference/competition team rooms, a 3,300 square-foot high bay with an overhead crane, and a large outside learning area,” according to Boise State’s release. It will also be Boise State’s first campus building constructed completely with engineered mass timber, donated by Boise Cascade.

Boise State says donations will cover all costs for the ESI Construction Management Building.
