Two charter school bills are headed to Gov. Butch Otter’s desk.
The House signed off on Senate amendments to the bills — one creating a $1.4 million stipend program for charter facilities and a governance bill allowing public universities to authorize charter schools.
The House had passed both charter bills nearly a month ago, but the Senate amended both bills, requiring the House to take them up a second time.
Both passed again.
House Bill 206, the charter stipends bill, passed the House Wednesday on a 40-27 vote.
House Bill 221, the charter governance bill, passed on a 45-22 vote.
