If Laraine Cook wants to return to coach girls basketball at Pocatello High School, she’ll have that chance.
The Pocatello Chubbuck School Board voted unanimously to offer Cook her job back, the Idaho State Journal reported Wednesday.
The board decision came three months after Cook was fired over a photo posted on her Facebook page. The photo showed Cook’s fiance, Pocatello High School football coach Tom Harrison, touching Cook’s clothed breast; he was reprimanded but not fired.
The school board did not quite go as far as a grievance panel had recommended in December. The three-member panel recommended reinstating Cook immediately.
Cook could not be reached for comment Tuesday night, and Harrison told the Journal that he isn’t sure what Cook will do next.
“Laraine and I are still together, we’re moving forward, we’ve been supportive of each other, and we are ready for some closure,” he told the Journal.
The firing drew national and international media attention.
