MERIDIAN – Meridian-based non-profit organization Inspire Excellence is accepting nominations for its third annual Inspire Excellence Awards.
The organization encourages Idahoans to nominate someone they feel has had a positive influence in the world, regardless of age, occupation, or scale of impact.
Each award recipient:
- Receives a handcrafted award designed by local Treasure Valley artists.
- Is honored at an event held in October.
- Will have a short video about their service to the community produced by a professional videographer team.
- Receives $1,000 to be donated to a charity of their choice.
Among the 2021 award recipients were:
- A neonatal flight nurse, nominated for her lifesaving work with infants.
- A recovered addict, nominated for changing lives by founding his own addiction recovery center.
- A local Humane Society volunteer, nominated for his dedication to animals in need.
Consider nominating an educator, parent or volunteer who deserves recognition for their inspiring contributions in public schools.
Nominations can be submitted now through Monday, August 15, 2022 by visiting InspireExcellenceIdaho.org/awards and filling out the nomination form.
“We all have people in our lives who quietly go about serving others and doing good,” said Thomas Ahlquist, Executive Director of Inspire Excellence. “Ironically, it is often the people in our community that serve and uplift others the most who receive the least amount of recognition for their service! Inspire Excellence seeks to honor and recognize our community’s “unsung heroes” in a way that celebrates their legacy of giving back.”
Tammy De Weerd, Chair of the Inspire Excellence Board, said: “Over the past three years, we have found that people are eager to nominate their friends, coworkers, and neighbors to win an Inspire Excellence Award. By submitting a nomination, you can recognize the inspiring people in your life and raise funds for charitable organizations in Idaho.”

Inspire Excellence is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for charitable causes by recognizing and honoring inspiring individuals within the state of Idaho.
Each year, Inspire Excellence hosts the Inspire Excellence Awards Luncheon; an event where individuals are nominated, selected, and presented with an award for their outstanding service to their communities.
Inspire Excellence raises funds to be donated to charity through the Inspire Excellence Luncheon. They are distributed in two ways. Each winner of an Inspire Excellence Award is given $1,000 to donate to a charity of their choice. Additionally, the funds raised at each year’s Inspire Excellence Luncheon are donated to chosen charity partners. In 2021, over $100,000 was raised and donated to 11 Idaho charities.
