From our broadcast partners at Idaho On Your Side — KIVI and KNIN TV in the Treasure Valley — here’s a video view of the tech pilot programs at Middleton High School, Kuna Middle School and Meridian’s Discovery Elementary School.
This tech pilot coverage represents a new project for us at Idaho Education News — the chance to team up with broadcasters to tell a story in words and video.
We’ve been working with Idaho On Your Side since January. I’ve been appearing with Michelle Edmonds every Wednesday night for “Making The Grade,” a weekly conversation on education policy and education politics (Spoiler alert: This week Michelle and I will talk about tech pilots … and probably some politics as well). We partnered with Idaho On Your Side and the Idaho Statesman on the April 30 debate featuring three of the four Republicans running for state superintendent. And come Tuesday night, I’ll help analyze the primary election results on KNIN and KIVI.
All of which is fairly standard fare between broadcast and print partners. Working in the field on collaborative coverage was new and fun. And I hope we get out there in the field again soon.
